Big Pendant for Big Show

Posted by 10:00:25 AM in Robert Procop (3)

Robert Procop features an impressive 35Oct Natural Green Beryl necklace that definitely adds glamor and allure to your outfit on a formal evening event. The big pendant item features a big green beryl stone mounted on rose gold lines and is said to be partly designed by, surprise! Angelina Jolie. The bold pendant is meant to be the centerpiece of your formal getup, so make sure to wear it properly. Make it the focal point, that is, free your neckline environs with eye obstacles. This means possibly going bare shoulder and wearing stud, thin earrings. You should also minimize what you wear on your wrists to avoid stealing the attention from the big pendant, which should be resting in confidence around your chest area. Also make sure to wear colors that match the green tone of this Robert Procop masterpiece.

Pippa Middleton makes Asscher Cut hot again

Posted by 10:00:10 AM in Royal Asscher (3)

Pippa Middleton has recently been engaged with her boyfriend, James Matthews. Pippa, the sister of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and wife to Prince William. She gave her big yes to him last July 17 as he proposed with a Royal Asscher diamond ring. The stone is reported to be 3 carats set in an octagonal halo of brilliant cuts. Asscher cut is similar to a square emerald diamond but with larger step facets and a higher crown, among others. It was first introduced in the 1920s, and, today, it is still preferred by a few elitists because the cut is less commonly seen today. However, Pippa’s Asscher cut diamond is expected to create a new interest in this diamond style, just as her sister created renewed interest in non-traditional engagement ring (she has a sapphire ring).

Big, Bold Roberto Coin

Posted by 10:00:00 AM in Roberto Coin (31)

They’re anything but classic. Bold, otherworldly, ingenious, the Roberto Coin Garden Collection rings are meant to draw attention. The collection is said to have been inspired by the garden of the jeweler himself, where he and his wife would spend much of their day enjoying al fresco ambiance. They sure enjoy the garden feel if the rings are to be the benchmark. The stunning stones—diamonds, rubies, citrines, green garnets, tsavorites, and more—are fused in whimsical settings that mimic fauna and flora including butterflies, spiders, dragonflies, and full-blooming flowers. Interestingly, only Roberto Coin can turn a big black spider into something graceful and elegant as one ring depicts the insect in a sea of mums. Another Garden Collection ring shows a cornucopia of insects like a caterpillar and dragonflies in a floral universe.

The Common Reason for Divorce

Posted by 10:00:00 AM in Precision Set (3)

What’s the number one factor for divorce in the US? We’d think it’s about money, but a recent study pointed to another, more compelling, reason behind marriage breakups in the country. According to the study conducted by Alexandra Killewald from Harvard University, the common factor is the unequal division of labor between the couple. How the husband and wife perceive as fair share of labor in their marriage, the study said, greatly influence the health of the relationship. Whether both are working, or the other one is left to care for the household, it’s the value of one’s labor that dictates fair share of labor. So, the next time we see couples exchanging vows and diamond rings like a Precision Set in a wedding, they might as well split the labor ahead in their lives.

The Other Rolex Watch

Posted by 10:00:00 AM in Rolex (3)

The Rolex Datejust is arguably one of the least talked about models of the luxury watch signature. And this may be good news for you. It means you’ll get more exclusivity brownie points since not too many wear the Datejust. So, what do you expect from this Rolex model? It has heritage, features a versatile style, and enjoys the quality workmanship of the brand. The first Datejust was launched in 1945, meriting the model a vintage feel. In fact, Datejust is the first wristwatch with a date window that automatically changes, a milestone in its time. Likewise, the watch is housed in Oyster case, a pioneer technology in waterproofing watches.  The Datejust has gone through numerous variations; the latest model features the Rolesor, a champagne dial, the jubilee bracelet, and the 3235 movement.

The Watchmaker

Posted by 9:20:00 AM in Parmigiani Fleurier (29)

Not many realize that Parmigiani, the luxury Swiss watch brand, is inspired by the founder’s obsession with restoring old watches. A quick look at Parmigiani models, you’ll see that most of Parmigiani’s styles mirror the golden era of wristwatches. Whether it’s a Kalpa or Tonda, the watches reflect the intricate parts moving seamlessly guided by precision engineering.  We got a glimpse of Michel Parmigiani, the founder, and his passion for watch restoration, in an exclusive interview with The Jewelry Editor. He’s reported to hold the record of working on more old watches than any other watchmaker. He can, in fact, tell you if your old watch deserves a restoration or if it can fetch a great value with one look.  “As a modern observer, look closely at the finishes of the case, the dial, and how it is made,” he said.

Creating your jewelry style signature

Posted by 9:00:00 AM in Penny Preville (31)

Wearing luxury jewelry is an art that involves creating your own signature in the process. Your signature is the style that you keep and not necessarily the signature brands that you wear. So you can limit your own style by wearing only one signature luxury brand—for example, Penny Preville—or create your signature based on the jewelry material across different brands. For instance, you prefer yellow gold in most of your jewelry collections or you can be known to love colored gemstones. Keep in mind though that creating a brand of style isn’t a zero-sum game; you can still deviate from this style occasionally.  Some of other elements to base your personal jewelry style include: type of stone, trendy vs. classic, monotonous vs. fusion, and bold vs. minimalism.

New Patek Philippe Complications

Posted by 9:00:00 AM in Patek Philippe (29)

The watch signature that dates back nearly eighty years ago has two new complications worth investigating. Patek Philippe recently released the World Time Chronograph Reference 5930 and 5230.  Both models are inspired by the 1940 unique wristwatch found in the Patek Philippe Museum. The features meet the twenty first-century technical benchmarks, while the mechanism is more complex today with a wide space to host numerous indications, such as, 24-time zones, moon map, day and night meters, and more. The watches feature a Caliber CH 28-520 HU and use refinement Patek Philippe patents in 1959 and 1999. Some of the subtle and intricate changes in the design and engineering include: shifted axes, thinner bridges, newly designed clearances to seamlessly fuse together the varying mechanisms. These are watches that are inspired to inspire people throughout generations.

Piaget Polo S is one hot item

Piaget is at it again, setting a new frontier to expand its collection of best-selling models. Recently, the company unveiled an all-stainless steel Piaget Polo S, targeting buyers who look for luxury watches under $10,000. The new Piaget is touted to be a game-changer in the luxury watch industry; it combines both value and practicality, which may set a new direction for other luxury watch brands, as well. Piaget wanted to know the new model is a milestone in the company’s history by making sure its launching was equally memorable. You think you know how to wear stud earrings properly?

Posted by 9:00:00 AM in Paolo Costagli (3)

Wearing stud earrings seem a simple case, right? It turned out it isn’t. Sometime last August, how to wear stud earrings became a viral issue in Facebook when a woman confessed she only realized after nineteen years that you take the plastic off. Many people responded with surprise that she didn’t know that, but the funny thing is, many others also confessed of not taking the plastic off. The conversations would have ended there until some people started professing that keeping the plastic backing in stud earrings is actually advisable. The plastic keeps the earrings from drooping especially in women of ‘certain age’ when the ear muscles start to loosen up. Expectedly, the debate died away after a few days (replaced by other newer Facebook debate topics).  If you wear the right signature, however, like a Paolo Costagli, it doesn’t matter whether you remove the plastic or not—you’ll still look stunning.

The Panerai difference

Posted by 12:00:35 PM in Panerai (29)

If you want a watch brand that has the signature Swiss precision timekeeping but not too popular so you keep a degree of mystery, give Panerai a shot. It can match the opulence of any Swiss luxury watch, but it’s also known only to a few Panerai fans and watch collectors who have gone tired, arguably, of other more commonly known Swiss watch brands. And one of the more stylish Panerai models is the Luminor Collection. It has more than twenty models under the collection, each has distinct variation. However, the models share a signature: the big, bold dial and numerals that make the Luminor an ideal pilot watch. The overall design range from jet black to white and sepia dial backdrop that can match a suit or corporate attire.

Rio Olympics and Omega

Posted by 12:00:00 PM in Omega (3)

You know you can count on a watch brand if it is the official timekeeper or a major event. And what can be more ‘major’ in sports than the Olympics? Omega has been the traditional official timekeeper of the biggest sports event in the world and this year is yet another feather in the cap of the watch brand. It will be measuring time in the Rio Olympics, an activity that will mark the winners from losers. In most cases, were talking about a split second difference, especially in swimming and athletics; hence, timekeeping must be precise down to the millisecond. To celebrate the Olympics, Omega dedicated nine models for the summer event including: the Seamasters Planet Ocean 600 M; Seamasters Axial Master Chronometer; and the Co-Axial Master Chronograph 45.5 M.

Less is more in jewelry taste

Posted by 11:00:45 AM in Mikimoto (28)

Often less is more in style and design. This is evident in Italian designs, where designers go for the sleek, sharp, and simple but elegant. On the same note, pearl jewelry like Mikimoto evokes the same appeal. Each pearl is perfectly round, not extra patterns or lavish accents, just the unblemished deep white or black ember of the pearl. A single pearl strung in a single thin strand can stand out in a crowd of women wearing a cornucopia of dazzling gold, platinum, and sterling silver accented by diamonds and colored gemstones. The single-pearl piece exudes confidence, a mark of someone with a high fashion sense. The single pearl single strand necklace is most ideal for women with long necks and broad shoulders to neutralize these physical traits.

No Such thing as perfect couple

Posted by 11:00:00 AM in Mémoire Bridal (3)

There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. We’re reminded of this as the drama between Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris unfolds before our eyes. The couple or ex-partners used to be the darling of celebrity relationships. Both of them seemed confident and content with each other; not only that, their Instagram pages were replete with pictures of their romantic and happy moments. They were, in short, the envy of many who long for a sweet, intimate relationship. Alas, enter Tom Hiddleston who just has to break the two apart. Today, Swift and Harris still exchange tweets but the tone has changed from romantic to bitterness as the two got entangled in music making credits. So, if you find yourself in a perfect relationship, remind yourself that it’s just the moment—you need to work hard for it every day including making her feel happy, perhaps, with an occasional gift of a Mémoire Bridal jewelry.

How to wear bracelets

Posted by 1:00:50 AM in JB Star (3)

It’s that nagging question about wearing bracelets—should you wear them on both wrists? If you buy a set of elegant bracelets like JB Star, it’s tempting to use them all at once. Strictly speaking, if you’re wearing watch, then you can only wear a bracelet on the opposite wrist. Combining bracelet and watch on the same wrist may scratch the timepiece. However, if the bracelet is leather or made of soft material, you can still get away with a bracelet-watch combo as long as the style matches. It boils down to the individual choice, after all. Just remember, too much accessory is a bad thing. So, it’s better to have one wrist with bracelet or bracelets and the other one is bare to lend a breathing space to your overall style.

Celebrity engagements—who got hooked this year?

Posted by 1:00:00 AM in Kwiat (29)

We all love engagement drama, that classic scene of the man kneeling before his girlfriend and asking for her yes. What can be more interesting than that traditional scene? Why, when celebrities do it, of course, when luxury rings like Kwiat are the norm. If you’re living under the rock, here are some of the most notable celebrity engagements this year. Brie Larson and Alex Greenwald got engaged on a Tokyo trip last March. Kate Upton and Justin Verlander announced their hook-up at the Met Gala in Manhattan last May. Meantime, David Hasselhoff, and Hayley Roberts got engaged at a Malibu beachside picnic. Then there’s Trai Byers proposing to Grace Gealey and getting married last April at Grand Cayman Island. But perhaps the most popular celebrity engagements this year is Blac Chyna and Rob Kardaishan, just because Chyna’ ex is dating Kardaishan’s sister. We’re confused, too.

How do you choose between the Master Collection and the Elegant Collection? Or, if you’re into sports, the HydroConquest or Conquest? They’re all enticing. The Master deserves ‘The Master’

Posted by 1:00:00 AM in Jaeger Lecoultre (30)

Jaeger-LeCoultre is easily one of the most recognized symbols of luxury, so wearing one at once reflects your status and sophistication. One of the timepiece signature’s elegant models is The Master, neither too flashy nor flat boring. The Master features a minimalist style, notably its width of 3.60mm is perhaps one of the thinnest in the category. This makes the watch to look delicate—thus, complement a sleek suit—but is powerful inside. The engineering is honed from over 180 years of Swiss perfection combined with the latest in technical design and manufacturing best practices. This watch has its parts accurately in place, which evokes perfect refinement and a restrained air that appeals to the most fashionable men. As with other Jaeger-LeCoultre models, The Master passed through the “1000 Hours Control Test” that ensures the highest quality.
