332 Bentleys for one diamond!

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:00:00 AM in Mémoire (20)

Do you know how much the most expensive diamond is? It’s the Pink Star Diamond sold for $83 million in a Sotheby’s auction. That’s $1.4 million per carat! Or 332 brand-new Bentleys. The diamond was unearthed in South Africa in 1999. Pink diamonds are usually more expensive than white because they are rarer; and the Pink Star is priced even higher than other pink diamonds because of its peculiar, vivid pink hues. Why would someone pay for this much? We don’t know. But we know people love diamonds and would pay a reasonable price for, say, like a Mémoire. It has the classic, timeless elegance of diamonds in 18k gold and platinum. It’s perfect for weddings, engagement, anniversaries and other special moments in your life, maybe to celebrate an occasion like owning your first Bentley.

Mémoire is available at Shreve & Co. in Palo Alto, California.
