Celebrate your Daughter’s Milestones

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 11:00:00 AM in Aaron Basha (30)

Thinking of a jewelry gift idea? How about something that is at once novel, playful, and luxurious. Aaron Basha has a collection of ladybug bracelets, little charming jewelry pieces that you can wear in casual and formal gathering. These trivial pieces are perfect for moms who want to gift their daughters with something special, or the other way around. If ladybugs are not your thing, how about an evil eye? Not to scare you, the evil eye is a light-hearted take on naughtiness. Some mothers may find it the perfect item for their daughters. Or, you can go for something innocent—butterflies, frogs, and baby shoes. Here’s an idea: give your daughter an Aaron Basha charm every time she reaches a milestone from her tweener days to becoming a lovely lady.

Aaron Basha, the “magical” jewelry known for its collection of evil eye and baby shoe charms, has a new line of jewelry pendants. Called Hamsa, the collection takes inspiration from the folkloric apotropaic amulet that depicts the hand as a magical protection. Hamsa is Arabic for five, referring to the digits of the hand. In Jewish it’s called hamesh. It’s traditionally used as an amulet or decorative pendant. Aaron Basha transforms this item into cute little pendants that feature the hand in different styles, material and gemstone accents. There is a Hamsa in18k rose gold featuring a diamond and sapphire eye. Likewise, another Hamsa shows an 18k yellow gold with turquoise and diamond as the eye. Yet another Hamsa features an 18k light blue enamel with diamond accents.

Meaningful charms

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 PM in Aaron Basha (30)

The beauty of charms lies in their ability to create meaningful gifts or personal purchase out of seemingly trivial items. You can have a travel-inspired charm as a souvenir to your Paris honeymoon, maybe. Or a baby charm to mark the memory of having your first baby. Aaron Basha has a line of these lovely charms that you can easily put meaning with. For example, the Airplane Charm or Ball Fish with Flower Charm can be a special gift to your child’s 6th birthday. He or she can wear the charm from thereon, as part of his or her casual getup at school or in social gatherings. The charm becomes a physical bonding icon for you and your child, reminding both of you of those memorable childhood years.

Charms are nostalgic

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 9:00:00 AM in Aaron Basha (30)

Charms are great gift ideas because, not only are they luxurious and stylish like other jewelries, but they carry thoughtful meanings to the recipient. In short, charms give the recipient a clue that the giver has spent considerable thoughts to buy the charm, and we know that—it’s the thought that counts. For example, giving an Aaron Basha baby shoe charms to your best friend who is expecting is a great idea. These baby shoe charms add nostalgia to your friend’s once in a lifetime experience of giving birth to her first child. As years go by, the charm will always remind her this moment, long after all other gifts have perished or have gone missing. Imagine, years from now, you and your best friend meet again and she’s still wearing the charm. Now that’s nostalgic.

Alternative luxury jewelry

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:00:45 AM in Aaron Basha (30)

Diamonds are not the only expensive gemstones. In fact, some gemstones can be more expensive and elegant. The Black Opal found in Australia costs as much as $2,355 per carat, while an Alexandrite discovered in the Ural Mountains has a price tag of $12,000 per carat. So when thinking of luxury jewelry, other gemstones can offer you a more varied choice. The Aaron Basha Topaz Evil Eye is one. It features a mesmerizing center eye swimming in the middle of blue topaz and set in 18k gold. It is accented by diamonds, which in this case become a backdrop rather than the star. The Aaron Basha Topaz Evil Eye can be set as an earring, a necklace pendant, a bracelet accent and a ring solitaire.

Aaron Basha: The Godfather of Charms

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in Aaron Basha (30)

The Godfather of charms, Mr. Aaron Basha, started pretty early in life. His jewelry career started out meeting royals with his mother, a jeweler herself. These visits, when he was between 9 to 12 years old, broke him in to the world’s premiere class. The original House of Basha was started by Aaron Basha’s mother. It was in the early twentieth century when they put up shop in Berkeley Square in London. It was in the 1990’s when they moved Manhattan for good. During Aaron Basha’s career, he too enjoyed the patronage of royals. He was once commissioned by a South East Asian princess to produce a life size baby shoe pendant encrusted with fancy yellow diamonds. The work took Aaron two months and sold more than one million pounds. While creating jewelry with briolette diamonds, diamonds that have their entire surface cut with triangle facets, Aaron Basha came about with creating charms. The influence of these stones led Aaron to create the iconic pieces that we see today and discerning tastes appreciate. It is this mix of fun and elegance that led to the success that is Aaron Basha, the Godfather of charms. For Aaron Basha charms, visit Shreve & Co. – authorized dealer for Aaron Basha.
