Diamonds have an allure by themselves that other precious stones can’t match. Around the world, more people are buying diamond jewelry driven by the stone’s brilliance and elegance. Forbes has reported that China and India account for the most diamond buyers, two countries with solid heritage ties with luxurious jewelry. In the U.S., diamond jewelry is mostly bought for bridal and engagement, but a few pieces are sold as investment or prized heirloom. In fact, one of the best heirlooms that you can handover to the next generation is a diamond ring like a Harry Kotlar. Nothing is more symbolic than the mother giving her Harry Kotlar wedding ring to her daughter for the latter’s marriage vows. It’s more than luxury, it’s a bond that ties families together onto the next generation.

Among the many archetypal diamond shapes, only a handful is likely to stand the test of time. One of these enduring few is the cushion shape, which is most recognizable for its huge crown, big open culet, and pavilion facets. And to further immortalize this classic gem shape, Harry Kotlar came up with its own fresh, innovative version in the Kotlar Cushion Diamond engagement rings and wedding bands. Bequeathed with over 60 facets, the Kotlar Cushion Diamond features four major facets that mirror light into the core of the stone to generate fire and radiance that even the most eclectic aficionados would likely long for. The ingenious, creative architecture ultimately creates a breathtaking cushion jewelry that is likely to transcend industry standard and limits of time.

As the premier jewelry manufacturer Harry Kotlar celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, the company looks back with poignant pride to its rich and inspiring history. After toughing out the frightful challenges of the Second World War, Polish immigrant Harry Kotlar arrived in the United States with his family to start a fledgling diamond business. The name that is now synonymous with “The World’s Most Brilliant Cushion Cut Diamonds” began humbly in the pioneer jeweler’s dedication as he personally sold loose diamonds, cut by his brother-in-law, to jewelry manufacturers and retailers. Having lost most possessions during the preceding war, Kotlar’s biggest asset was his quickly-expanding network of relationships based on trust and integrity. The third generation of the family continues to uphold the brand’s sterling reputation in the industry, as well as the first generation’s commitment to Beauty, Art and Perfection.
In addition to the brand’s expertly-cut polished loose diamonds, Harry Kotlar offers luxury and bridal jewelries all meticulously handcrafted and set in the most endearing designs. Shreve & Co. in Portland, Oregon is an authorized dealer for Harry Kotlar.
