The Saxonia Annual Calendar Platinum by the Dresden based watch manufacturer A. Lange and Sohne is a modern-classical German watchmaking masterpiece. The reliably durable platinum round case measures a comfortable 38.5mm diameter, making it just the right size for a subtle and sophisticated dress piece. The simple black leather strap and the anti-reflective coated silver dial makes the piece the perfect complement to casual or dressed up attire. But of course, an in the case of every timepiece by the seasoned German brand, Saxonia bears has an equally impressive substance as its form. The calendar watch is composed of nearly 500 individual parts and 43 jewels, and is powered by the Lange Reference L.0851 movement with 46 hours reserve. The movement uses an 18k solid gold bidirectional rotor with lever escapement to power its annual calendar complications, displayed on the sleek dial as familiar subsidiary registers – the subsecond, moonphase, and the month and day calendars.
A. Lange & Sohne pulls off another functionality and form equilibrium with this timepiece, available at Shreve & Co in Portland Oregon.
