Colors of Summer: The Nomos Glashütte Tetra Petit Four
Colors of Summer: The Nomos Glashütte Tetra Petit Four

Describing something as a “delicacy” is usually reserved for the finest of culinary creations. French pastries would fall in this category, and it is from these delicacies that Nomos Glashütte has drawn the inspiration for the Tetra Petit Four watch collection. Combining the intricacy and innate charm of the French pastry with the design and technical ability of a world renown watchmaker, the Tetra Petit Four series by Nomos Glashütte consists of four colorful Tetra versions. Grenadine Red, Pearl Pink, Matcha Green, and Azure Blue arrive in delightful colors that appeal to the eye in much the same way a macaron on the shelf of Ladurée intrigues a visitor to the city of love. Beyond the whimsical appearance is the modern design and architecture expected of the Nomos brand.

Grenadine Red, Pearl Pink, Matcha Green, and Azure Blue watches

Creating color inside the square steel case of the Tetra allowed Nomos Glashütte to stay true to the design of the brand while also creating something unique. The 29.5mm by 29.5mm case of the Tetra is the perfect canvas. The modern, contrasting sans serif Arabic numerals on colorful dials highlight subtle contrasts while providing style that is purely Nomos. The type face complements the color of each dial, allowing for easy visibility, while the single hand on the small seconds sub-dial provides a pop in bright red at the six o’clock position. Minimalist baton hands in either gold-plated, rhodium-plated, or green mark the hours and minutes within the petite square case.

Measuring at just 6.25mm thickness, the Nomos Glashütte Tetra Petit Four continues the delicacy theme with a slim case which houses the Alpha Calibre movement. Built in-house by Nomos, the 3 Hz movement (21,600 vph) is accurate and reliable, adjusted in six positions, and finished with tempered blue screws, Glashütte ribbing, and Nomos perlage. The hand-wound timepiece has a power reserve of 43 hours thanks to the Alpha Calibre, Nomos’ first movement, and the movement which still powers more of their timepieces than any other. The movement is visible in two of the four timepieces of the Tetra Petit Four collection. Grenadine and Pearl feature a sapphire crystal glass exhibition case back, while Matcha and Azure are completed by a stainless-steel back which offers space for a personalized engraving. Water resistant to 3 ATM, the Tetra Petit Four series is completed with a gray velour strap fitted to the double-lug design of the square case.
